Traditional Membership

Participation in the physical gallery on Water Street during the summer season and at the Eastport Arts Center during the winter holiday season, as well as a web-based presence through virtual gallery shows and personal pages and promotion through a number of on and offline publications.

 

Details

Commitments and Opportunities with Traditional Membership

• Participation in monthly gallery shows (June-September)

• Optional Participation in online shows

• Personal Page with bio and mini-store

• $250 annual membership. 

• Work approximately six, 6 hour days at the gallery during summer season (June-Sept). 

• Members should be available to volunteer to support various projects and activities or serve on the Board. Board positions are for a term of one year. 

• Members must adhere to all bylaws.

• Voting member of the co-op

• Sales policy is 70/30 (artist/gallery).

 

Exhibits change monthly in the main gallery (June-Sept), and members should display 3 large and 3 small pieces in each show. The work must be new to the gallery.  The gallery also hosts virtual (online) shows year-round. Virtual gallery participation is optional but encouraged. Participation in virtual shows enables work to also be displayed on individual artist pages.

To Apply

Using the form in the yellow box above, please submit 5-10 examples of your work.  Use a separate form for each example. 

 

Include your name and email on all submissions.  You only need to include your Artist Statement on the first form.  There will be a place to enter additional skills - you only need to enter this on the first form.  We are all volunteers and rely on our members to fill various jobs:  bookkeeping, website maintenance, painting, event planning, publicity, and, of course, manning the desk in the gallery on a regular basis.
